WE CAN DO BETTER!

Have you looked at the Universe lately? Have you looked up?

It’s time, its time we ALL take time to look UP. It’s time we ALL see POSSIBILITIES instead of what is NOT.

The definition of POSSIBILITIES is: Something that you believe might happen or might be possible. How many of you believe this? How many of you truly believe in the POSSIBLE?

Looking for possibilities may take Faith, it may take frustration that nothing else is working, (so why not,) but I think if you breathe, you have at one time or another, thought there was possibilities in something. I am asking you now, to take a leap of Faith and believe wholeheartedly, in possibilities.

Throughout history, we have seen many events take place that were primarily based on the fact that someone saw a possibility that things could change….for the better. CHANGE, for the BETTER.

Last night I watched Les MisΓ©rables again and was reminded that although there were great losses in the French revolution, there was an inherent belief that change for the better was possible. (I do not use this as an example of great revolutions, only that the shear desire and emotion as viewed through the eyes of the playwright, is incredibly moving, and strong.) I could feel the deep overwhelming urgency in the peoples hearts. I could feel the pain as they sought to fight for change to come, for people to be respected, poor people to be fed and workers to be treated fairly.

Strong and moving. Words that I see so much today wherever I look. News, comments, Op Eds, journal articles, are all filled with words and thoughts that contain so much emotion. Have we reached a new pinnacle of thought? Are we on the apex of finding a new way to live, through bravery, courage and embracing the future? Or, are we cowering at the thought of living in uncertainty and unwilling to be uncomfortable, wanting our same way of life to return? At times I am not quite sure which scenario Strong and Moving point toward. (It can also take a great deal of resolve to stay in one place..to be unmovable.) So, with that said, where on the strata do you fall? Where do you want to be?

The Universe, God, Jesus, are, strong and moving forces in our lives. You can look up and see millions and millions of miles of cosmos. Strong and moving, to say the least. The stars glimmering so brightly, the moon sheading its light for all to see in the dark of night, so strong and moving. Gods Almighty power, unfolding in front of us, every day, every night, every second we live. Life purposes unfold when we yield to His power and plan. Lives are changed every day with His Strong and Moving forces in nature.

How do we take this God given strength we KNOW is available, and MOVE toward doing BETTER?

We are all humans on the planet. We have different cultures, religions, skin colors, customs, but we all have ONE commonality…..we ARE HUMANS. We were made to have community, friendships, love. We are meant to evolve, to be better. Every single person knows this deep on their heart. This is an unescapable fact of humanity, …. ignorable, but not escapable.

If humans are at the top of the food chain, should we not at least be trying to change, grow, evolve and in essence Be Better? Is it not our eternal duty as humans placed on this earth? I believe so. I believe, I confess, as much as I fall short of this on days, I try my best to do better. I try to love more widely, forgive as I have been forgiven, Judge not lest I be judged, and open my heart and mind to new ways of thinking and being.

It does take conscious effort. It takes getting out of my comfort zone, and risking losing something….my pride, my sense of who I may be, my knowledge of what IS.

One of my most respected authors, therapists, teachers is Carolyn Myss. She has taught me so much about taking risks, allowing my soul to experience the growth it needs to become what God meant it to be. And what I am asking you, is no different than what I am taking on myself. Growing, evolving, letting God do what He does best, Love us all, teach us how to be better humans, FOR HUMANITY!

SO….My answer to the question above is YES! WE CAN DO BETTER! We can start discourses without hate, without disparaging remarks, or prejudging. We can talk and see without bias and prejudice…IF WE WANT TO! We can SEE PEACE IN HUMANITY IF WE WORK FOR IT!

HOW HARD DO YOU WANT TO WORK? HOW MUCH LOVE DO YOU WANT TO GIVE?

HOW STRONG AND MOVING DO YOU WANT TO BE TO HELP HUMANITY?

Think on these things, leave a comment, talk to your neighbor.

Until next time….be loving.

SHALOM,

Tanny
