Mark 3:25 ESV And if a house is divided against itself, that house will not be able to stand.
A house that is divided will not stand. How many take this seriously?
I have been reading on several sites lately, of family divisions, friends parting ways, disgruntled employees, Christians that seem to not abide by this statement from Mark.
I UNDERSTAND we have differences of opinion, I UNDERSTAND we have different stances, and celebrate our freedoms to do so….but to divide a house so that we may each declare our righteousness? That, my friends, I do not understand.
I have read so much pain, so much sadness, so much grief that I can no longer stay quiet. My prayers to God have been for strength and courage, but I keep hearing Him say, WRITE about MY LOVE. SO today, I am writing about what God, Jesus and His Disciples had to say. They are not just my role models, but my guides, my directors, my Creator And my Savior.
There have been all too many times in my past when I was so full of MY ideas, MY rightness, MY ways, I could hardly SEE Gods way. Ill give you a guess of what happened during that period of my life.
Today, NOW, we MUST SEE and FEEL and SPREAD GODS ETERNAL LOVE, HIS MERCY, HIS FORGIVENESS, HIS ENDURING PATIENCE. Our choices are so limited in all reality. Stand with your righteousness, or keep your “houses” together, despite differences. God, CHRIST, DOES have a better method to managing crisis, to managing difficulties….IF YOU ONLY DO WHAT HE SAYS. LOVE ONE ANOTHER.
Loving one another does not mean we have to get “mushy.” It does not call for fake comments of adoration or appreciation. It calls for ACCEPTANCE, FOR MERCY, FOR LOOKING BEYOND YOURSELF.
I leave you with this from Paul in 1 Corinthians 13:1-13
“If I speak in the tongues of men and angels, but have not love, I am a noisy gong or clanging cymbal. And if I have prophetic powers and understand all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have all faith, so as to remove mountain, but have not Love, I am NOTHING. If I give away all I have, and if I deliver up mu body to be burned, but have not love, I gain NOTHING. Love is PATIENT and kind;love DOES NOT ENVY or BOAST; it is not ARROGANT or RUDE. It DOES NOT insist on its own way; it is not irritable or resentful; it DOES NOT rejoice at wrongdoing, but REJOICES with THE TRUTH. Love, BEARS ALL THINGS, BELIEVES ALL THINGS, HOPES ALL THINGS, AND ENDURES ALL THINGS. …..
So, NOW FAITH, HOPE AND LOVE ABIDE, THESE THREE; BUT THE GREATEST OF THESE IS LOVE.”
Amen.
