There is an old song called Beautiful Dreamer I love. Its melody is so sweet and speaks of love and wistfulness, and love.
I read the headlines daily, listen the the news and think most of us really want this dream. We want the dream to be true when we wake. We want this all to be over and all to be well with the world. We want love to reign and calm in the world to exist….well, most of us do.
There are always some that seem to clamor for discord, unrest and their very souls seem to need that which is so absent they fight others and themselves trying to seek it.
Absentee souls are not possible. Absentee consciousnesses are.
Our souls make up our very essence, made initially prefect, but sometimes injured so severely that the soul gets lost and then the world and all its ills creep in. Liken this creeping to a vine you can’t get rid of in your garden. Somehow it had seed, took root and grew, and grew, and until you got to the very beginning of the root, it would not die and the garden could not heal itself and thrive.
Such is true with souls and people. Sometimes a person is so injured, their hearts are broken, their minds scattered to the wounds of time that it takes a skillful gardener of the spirit to get to the root and make the garden of the soul whole again. It takes a skillful gardener, a God with limitless love, a heart that has a crack in its harden surface and a Light the person can believe in.
We are facing so many societal ills. There are many opportunities for discord to get hold and so many inured souls to infiltrate. I write this as fact, because, frankly, it is. The question, as usual, is what can we do about it? I am just ONE…..ONE person in a sea of injured souls fighting for their life and right to survive.
The good part…I AM ONE PERSON. YOU, ARE ONE PERSON. WE HAVE FRIENDS WHO ARE OTHER PERSONS. We, together can reach out to the hurt and injured. We can reach out and instead of judging them, berating them, (to injure them further,) find a way to help.
It is a Dream you say. Yes, likely it is. But it is a good dream, and one I would like to try to keep accomplishing in my life. I hope you decide to join me.
